The leadership team provides direction to our company based on our vision and mission. This team has six managers who are internationally responsible for the following:

  • establishing and striving toward organisational goals
  • optimising the performance of people and organisation
  • focusing on the corporate social responsibility of our organisation

The Netherlands

Aldo van der Laan,
Chairman Zwanenberg Food Group

Since it was founded, Zwanenberg Food Group has expanded from four to five hundred employees up to 1,800 worldwide. Only some three of an original ten competitors remain. ‘For our family business, becoming larger is not a goal in itself. It is about having unique proposals and products compared to your competitors. We are gradually grasping the opportunities that come our way to bring this vision to life.’

Since it was established in 2002, the core of its mission has been to continue to deliver top quality food products worldwide. ‘In a continually fluctuating market, it is essential to be able to take direct action in response to current events. We are very alert in this respect. In addition, the focus lies on new opportunities and improvements for the future. Long-term planning is difficult, but based on our knowledge, experience, mission and creativity we are able to keep the COGS level constant and the consumer level up.’

Grety Gerritsen,
Chief Financial Officer

Grety Gerritsen has been working at Zwanenberg since May 2012. She started out as Business Controller for the Business Unit Tinned Foods. Since 2014 she has been CFO of Zwanenberg Food Group. In this role, she is responsible for monitoring the financial position and results of the company; from the purchase of ingredients, the production process, logistics and sales right through to incoming payments and support services. ‘To be successful as a company, the right products must be produced in the right way at the right time. By generating financial insight, we are able to make good decisions.’

Rob Russo,
Managing Director ZWAN Food USA

A great deal has changed at Zwanenberg USA since Rob Russo was appointed Marketing & Sales Officer in 2015. Thanks to a collaboration network with food company Pinnacle Foods in 2015 and a large order from the US government, Zwanenberg was able to conquer a top position on the luncheon meat market. ‘This development ensured that we are able to continue innovating, serving our customers optimally and marketing our products effectively. This offers great opportunities for the future.’

Jonathan Ashmore,
Managing Director Zwanenberg Food UK

He joined Zwanenberg Food Group UK in November 1999. Along with his team, Managing Director Jonathan Ashmore is responsible for the production and delivery of high quality, user-friendly food products for the consumer market in the UK. ‘Through close cooperation with our stakeholders, a targeted action plan and flexible management of our product portfolio, we are able to we manage the efficiency of our production process. The key to success is to understand market demand and continuously adapt our products and production process accordingly.’
